Last December, I bought tickets to go see N.K.O.T.B.S.B. Though the concert was over 7 months away, I didn't care. I needed to be the first one to get tickets. I rounded up friends, did the pre-sale, and got my tickets. Little did I know, I would be 7 months pregnant for the show. Did it stop me? Hell no! The baby needs to be exposed to such fab music!

I knew this show would be such a fun night out with my gals...it has in the past. Saw New Kids in 3rd with 3 girlfriends {and my dad}, then again 2 years ago with another girlfriend. In high school, I saw the Backstreet Boys in concert 3 years in a row...with girlfriends, of course.

Let me just tell you...it was amazing! I didn't sit down the whole time. I felt like I was on "16 and Pregnant" b/c it was like high school all over again. My 16 year-old-self and my 29 year-old-pregnant-self collided! Until I birth this baby, this was the highlight of my year!

Happy Belated 4th of July

Last night hubs and I decided to go watch fireworks. It was never in our "plans" for the weekend...but figured since we now live close to a "big" production, we should go. We didn't feel like fighting the downtown crowd...so we opted for Crockett Park. We threw some chairs in the back of the truck and drove by the park to feel it out. We didn't want to get stuck in major traffic, so we found a field where about 40 or so other cars had parked and made our way in. We moved to the top of the hill, popped open the chairs in the tailgate, and turned up the jams. Surprisingly, it was a nice night out and we had a great view of the show.

As soon as the finale hit, we were in the car and out of the field. Literally took us 10 seconds to hop out of the back and get our truck moving. We were the 2nd car outta there and had no traffic on the way.

I think we just started a new family tradition!

The New Office In Our House

A few months back, I blogged about our home and moving in. We had a guest bedroom that would be a future nursery and an office that (fingers crossed) eventually will be my fabulous bathroom and closet. A girl can dream, right?

Well, since we have a new addition coming to our family in a few short months, we decided it was time to do some rearranging...again!

We took the twin beds from our "granny guest bedroom" and moved them into the office. Here are the before pics:

Since we have moved them into the office...the color scheme is a bit different. Since I am a bit OCD, I needed to make the changes the day after the beds moved into their new room.

I finally figured out why I am so full-figured (well, prior to being pregnant) !

As I was washing my hair in the shower this morning, I took time to read
the back of my shampoo bottle. I am in shock! The shampoo I WAS using in
the shower runs down my entire body. The bottle says "for extra volume and
body!"

Seriously, why have I not noticed this before?

Tomorrow I am going to start bathing with "Dawn" dish soap! It says right on the bottle,
"dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove."

It pays to read the labels, my friends!

We have had some crazy rain and wind lately. I know there have been several tornados over the last few weeks all across the country. Unfortunately, we all expect damage after one comes into the area. What I was not expecting damage from was the wind! Monday night, we had bad storms at our house. I normally sleep through everything...but not this time. We woke up to find one of our mature trees had taken a fall. Luckily, not on Josh's new truck!

I had to say goodbye to my beloved Allen...my car. It was a sad day on Saturday. My eyes watered...I blame it on the pregnancy. Anyway, the hubster has wanted a truck for who knows how long. He finally found one in Tuscaloosa, AL that was a killer deal. Since my car is older and more of a P.O.S. than his, we decided to trade it in. One little catch, it's in my name only...so I had to go-morning sickness and all. After a long day, I said goodbye to my dear friend and headed off to Birmingham to see Jill and her family.

Nowadays, you will catch me driving Flossy the 4-Runner (hubs old car).

A few weeks ago, hubs and I went to Raleigh, NC to visit some friends. They used to live in Nashville and moved 2 months before Katie gave birth to their precious little son. We went to meet the baby and spend time with good friends. I wasn't able to capture our whole weekend (I had a bit of morning sickness), but I did get a few good shots...Baby Thomas and Wine Guessing game. Those two go together, right?

Now, on to the wine. We went to a wine tasting and the boys decided to bring some home and have our own tasting (I watched the little guy and took pics). They had 6 different kinds of wines and each person took a turn being blind foldded and guessed which is which.

I just realized I never blogged about my trip to California over Christmas break. My whole family (sans bro-in-law Brandon) went to Palm Springs. It was a very relaxing week and a great place to just get away from it all. Here are some pictures from our trip (this is a long post).

One of the days, we decided to head up the Palm Springs Aerial Tram.

They say its like going from Mexico to Alaska--we gathered the warmest clothes we had and took off!

When referencing S.A.D. the other day on twitter, someone asked me why I celebrated it if I was married. I have a few reasons.

1) it is a tradition I started celebrating back in college with my friend Abby. Just because we were single, didn't mean we had to feel like crap b/c we didn't have a date that night.

2) Fast forward to working adult: The hubs and I both celebrate birthdays and Christmas in December. When we were dating, it was hard to come up with 3 different gifts in a 2 month time frame. We just decided cooking at home or watching a movie was enough celebration.

3) I love flowers, chocolates, sweet notes from my husband...who doesn't? But, I like the surprise of those things. I don't want him to do it b/c he feels pressure that it's Valentines day--and trust me, he feels NO pressure.

So, to sum it up. I prefer to call it Singles Awareness Day. It works for me.

Black Shatter Re-Do

Last Friday, I blogged about Black Shatter from my iPad. I won the iPad for work...and though it is fabulous...it's not the best for blogging. So, today, I am going to re-do my Black Shatter post from last week.

I love nail polish. I never thought I would be a girl to recognize nail colors on people...but I can. Yes, it's a bit psycho! Anyway, I found Black Shatter in People's Style Watch and had to try it out! It seemed to be sold out everywhere. Finally, I was able to find the "Serena Williams" collection with Simply Smashing and Black Shatter in a set at Amazon.

When it arrived in the mail...I tested it out immediately. My pictures from last week aren't very clear. So here is my new attempt to show off the Black Shatter.

First: Apply the Simply Smashing (or any other color you want to be the base). I did two coats.

Second: Once it's dry apply one coat of Black Shatter.

Third: Watch it dry into a really cool & funky pattern

Now, what do you think of Black Shatter? I think it's pretty awesome.

I think I might try it with Red next!

Of course by now, you have heard about Christina Aguilera messing up the Star Spangled Banner for the Super Bowl. What you may not have heard is that she did it on purpose. Some are speculating that since she has had such a bad run of press lately...she needed a bit more publicity. Ummm...if you have only been in the press for a negative reason, why add fuel to the fire? I guess since she sang it perfectly during for the 2010 NBA finals, people are questioning her motives. Check out the video to see her in action...just in case you missed it.

My Dream

So I have always had very vivid and random dreams. Usually I can figure out what went on in my day to make me dream such craziness...that usually involves me being friends with celebrities. Last night's was no exception.

The Dream:

I was working out with my best friends, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim. We were all just hanging out in the gym working on our fabulous selves.

I was there b/c I needed to "maintain" my figure b/c earlier in the year I had been on a TV show that was getting a lot of buzz. While we were working out, we ran into Justin Beiber and my sister.

They were just hanging out watching TV and then "my show" came on...The Bachelor. Yes, I was on the bachelor. And since all dream transitions are so normal, I was all of sudden back in filming mode (if this was real life, I would have just gone back in time a few months).

I had just had my one on one date with Brad. We never kissed...and if you have been watching, Brad has been kissing everyone. Want to know why we never kissed? B/c I am still married in my dream.

I was just there to watch what was going on and to see if I could go under the radar and make it far. So far so good. I got my rose. When I arrived home (Literally home, to my parents house) from my date, I had to hurry up and get ready for the rose ceremony. Since I had a limited selection of dresses to choose from at my parents, I busted out my prom dress from 1998. It was gray chiffon and had one of those chiffon neck thingys. Adrienne Maloof would have been proud!

I pulled my hair half up and went to the ceremony. In the midst of all the girls, I had a moment alone with Brad. There was a country music song on in the background and we began to two-step. That was our "alone" time during the rose ceremony. He was walking me back to group and all of the sudden stuck a shot in my arm...(like at the Dr.) and then dropped the empty shot in a basket with a few others. Most of the girls were rubbing their arms and I looked at brad to ask him what that was, and he was Dr. Travis Stork...former Bachelor.

All of the sudden, I was back in the work out room with Khloe, Kourtney, Kim, and the Beibs and "I need somebody to love was playing" on my scene with Brad/Travis in my prom dress. The Beibs was excited his song was playing on ABC and I was excited to see what was put in my arm.

Well, just as I was about to find out...my alarm went off.

So, you think I smoke crack? No, this is what I get for watching TV late at night when the hubs is out of town. He is back now.

Justin Beiber and my sister-yesterday on the radio this girl won tickets to his new movie and the dj asked if she was a beiber fan and she said my sister is obsessed. So there you have it.

The Bachelor-I watched in on Monday and ended up discussing the shopping spree with my mother yesterday. Then I mentioned how I have always liked Brad and thinking he is charming...but kisses everyone.

She then told me about something she had seen on "the Doctors" with Dr. Travis Stork, former bachelor and Nashville native.

Country two-step-yesterday i listened to country music all day instead of my usual pop.

The prom dress-I was finally watching part two of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion and they played the scene with Kim and Kyle in the car...Adrienne was in there in a blue dress and a neck thingy. It made me think of how I wore one to prom.

So ladies and gents, there you have it. My CRAZY dream!

With all the snow we have been having, I feel like my rain boots are a great alternative to my uggs...especially when the snow melts and it is all icy and slushy out. Sorry to be so MIA this past week. I have missed you! Anyway, I am back for Tuesday Shoesday! Over the weekend, I was in New Orleans visiting one of my best friends Paige. She moved there about a year and half ago...so I was glad we got to spend a little quality time together!

In honor of my time in NOLA and with Paige. I have decided to do a very festive Mardi Gras shoe. I know it's not for a while...but everywhere you turn, you see beads, mardi gras stuff, and purple, green, and gold.

a friend sent me the following email and i thought i would pass it along. it is pretty funny and accurate!

Undeniable adult truths

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.
18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

Hubs and I have been in our house just over 2 months. I am kind of psycho about unpacking, organizing, and getting settled. You have seen where we did one guest bedroom and our office, but we have another bedroom I have not blogged about.

{Before}

Coming from a 2 bedroom town home, we had a master and one guest bedroom. Having more space in this home, my parents gave us some spare twin beds they had. Eventually, we want to make this room a nursery (notice this room was NOT painted)...but until then...it's another guest bedroom!

We wanted to upholster headboards--but since hubs and i have the opposite taste in fabric, we decided a simple white headboard from target would finish off the look!

We call this room the GRANNY ROOM...b/c of our Dutch Quilts.

My grandmother made me the little dutch girl when I was younger and gave it to me for my wedding. I was talking about the quilt over Thanksgiving and Josh's mom mentioned his great grandmother made him a little dutch boy quilt! My MIL brought it over and now one is draped over each bed!

I decided I wanted punch it up a notch and made 2 pillows for each bed. B/c I have no idea what I am doing and no patience to learn--I just started sewing.

I think they turned out pretty well!

When I went to stay with my friends mom, Kendall , a few years ago, I fell in love with her twin bed guest bedroom. What I loved most were her

"You" & "Me" pillows.

So, inspired by Kendall, I made some of my own.

At lunch last week, a co-worker mentioned something she heard on the radio. She said apparently there is a study that shows men that get all worked up will calm down when they see pictures of cooked meat!

HOW FUNNY/RANDOM IS THAT?!?!

I thought it was hilarious! So I decided to google it and this is what I discovered:

"Forget massages, soothing music or aromatherapy. If you want to calm down a stressed-out man, just show him a few photos of meat. Preferably just-cooked hunks of beef filet, lamb chop and T-bone steaks, still sizzling and etched with blackened grill marks. Okay, perhaps not those exact cuts of meat, but researchers at McGill University in Canada did find that images of meat actually calmed men down and made them less aggressive."

Anna over at A Very Clever Title cracks me up! Like my girl Lilu, Anna and I have never met, but she is one of my fabulous interweb friends! Am I even using the term interweb correctly? Oh well.

Yesterday, she blogged about the Urban Shoe Myth for Tuesday Shoesday.

Towards the end of high school and all of college, I ~~was obsessed and still am~~ loved Sex and The City.

So, as soon as she put up the fabulous pair of Manolos, aka, the urban shoe myth, I was brought back to the episode all too well!

If you have been reading my blog, you are aware that the hubster and I have spent the second half of 2010 looking/moving into a new home. We sold our last home in May (1400 sq. ft. townhome) and have purchased a single family home that is much larger. We had just enough furniture to fill our 2 bedroom townhome, so when you have extra bedrooms and space...you feel very blessed to receive hand-me-down furniture from your parents! ;)

Since we don't have children yet, we have have two guest bedrooms on the main floor (ranch home with basement). We had 1guest bedroom before--so we got that room finished in our new house. Curtains are new to our family--as we did all faux wood blinds before. That in itself is a big deal/accomplishment to us! The twin bed guest bedroom is still a work in progress. More on that one later.

We painted...but since 99% of my pictures are from the phone, you cant tell.

This fabulous piece of furniture was a gift from our friends Tom & Katie.

They have moved with it 3 times and never had a room for it.

It always ended up in their garage.

Since they moved from Nashville to NC, they decided to see if we could use it.

Ummm...no question about it...I would find space!

Sure enough, they can enjoy their furniture when they come visit and stay in our guest bedroom!

We had a crappy bedside table in our old home that Josh had in college.

We gave it to goodwill when we moved and I finally found the perfect piece for the room

TARGET is the best! :)

Of course, Josh was fine as long as the woods matched. He is so anal!

We also have an office. Since our computer is broken, and we need a new filing cabinet, it has become the "catch-all" room for our paperwork. Please excuse the mess!

I received this video last week and it reminded me of a the time my husband won fantasy football money. We had just bought our first home and really needed a vacuum. We both thought instead of blowing it, lets get a nice once. Great! This wasn't for me for Christmas, Birthday, Valentines, etc. It was his winnings that he wanted to spend on a vacuum.

We went looking and everything was fine and dandy until he said, "I like this one, do you think YOU will be able to carry it up the stairs".

Why am I blogging about GQ?

Well, if you don't follow my EVERY tweet on twitter...then you have no idea my relative is in it.

Yep! That's right...my brother-in-law Nate is in GQ!

He is in the December issue with Drake or Scarlett Johanssen on the cover.

He entered a contest to create a drink with certain ingredients. He was one of thousands that entered and he made it to the top 40. They flew him out to Vegas to make his drink and do a photo shoot.

Over the weekend, we began decorating our new house for Christmas.
