Sips 'N'Strokes

Last week, my friend Caitlin invited us to Sips'n'Strokes before Thanksgiving.
I love the concept--Bring your own wine and paint the night away...with instructions!
Since Josh is very competitive and a type A artist...I figured I could convince him!
We met up with Caitlin, her husband, Nick, and her sister, Metta, and our friend John.
This is us, just getting started!
The mess I made!
From L to R: Nick, Caitlin, Josh, and Me
My trunk is a bit fat up top!
OOPS!
Oh and  tip--don't dip your brush into your wine thinking its the water!
Our friend John
Metta's artwork!
My finished product!
I am so not an artist. I just wish my trunk wasn't so fat up top!
Me and the hubster!
I would love to go back and do something different!
Josh, not sure about him. He was one of 4 guys...out of like 40 women!
What do you think?
Oh and another fun little side not...Derek & Julieann Hough's mom works there.
We were rooting on Derek for the DWTS finale!

Black Friday

While yall are out trampling each other, fighting people, and sitting in traffic  enjoying some holiday shipping, I am in the country...enjoying a full belly, no cell service, and all my in-laws.
Wanna know a little secret??
they are pretty cool in-laws!!
Oh and not experiencing "blue Saturday"
HAPPY SHOPPING!

N.K.O.T.B.S.B

Last week when I found out that NKOTB and the BSB's were joining forces for a summer tour...you better believed I was super excited!
The 3rd grader in me was pumped about NKOTB! I saw them when I was 8 at starwood and again last summer! How can you not love a baby faced Joey? Ahh...
OH! OH! OH! OH! OH!
THE RIGHT STUFF...
More than my rotating love for Joey and Jordan (i even had the NKOTB pillowcase and swatch watch), was my later-in-life love for the BACKSTREET BOYS. Let me just tell you... the teenager, young adult, college student, young professional, in me was beyond pumped when I heard the news!
"Tell me Why..."
If you knew me in high school...you knew I was OBSESSED with the BSBs and nick carter.  I guess I have a thing for blondes!?!
{check out the blonde hubster}
They were part of my pivotal high school years.
A road trip with Jordan & Kim where we would each sing every 3rd word to the Millennium Album.
Kim and I listening to them and saying which "boy" was singing what part.
And even getting our guy friends (3 years in a row) to do the BSBs for lip sync.
OBSESSED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!
So, when I found out I missed the performance from the two groups on the AMA's,  I was a tad bit upset.
I mean, look how great they all look!
Kind of sad that Kevin "No Diggity" Richardson is not a part of the tour...but the rest are cooler anyway!
Well, thanks to our friends at you tube...I got to see it this morning and it has pretty much made my week! This makes me so happy.
Love the mashup! Love the dancing! And I still Love Nick Carter! Ok, not really, but I did think he looked great! I am pretty sure that I just saw Michael C from project runway fist-pumping and signing along! You can believe I will be first in line--I actually waited in line in high school for BSB tickets in the ghetto  online the day they come out! WHO IS WITH ME?

A Little Thanksgiving Decor

A few years ago i tried to find real looking bought fall harvest stuff.
after 2 years of attempting to make it look real, i decided they needed an upgrade.
So literally, our first day in our new house (yes, i am psycho), I decided to revamp my harvest decor!
listen, i was sad i didnt get to decorate for Halloween, so I was feeling the urge!
I got a can of spray paint from hobby lobby and started spraying.
I don't remember the color, but its a metallic bronze/goldish color.
I threw them in a glass display thingy hurricane (?) with some acorns and pine cones and you get a super cute fall display!
I also added a super cute Thanksgiving version of "keep calm and carry on" from Craftily Ever After...for free! How cute is that?
here is the finished product.
Please ignore the height of the photos.
my husband has phobia of putting pictures lower than his eye level--this was truly a fight to get them that low. I still think they are a little high.
this is what happens when he puts screws in wood paneling while you are unpacking boxes.
Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Tuesday Shoesday

Today for work, I had to revisit my Alma matter--middle school style!
As I walked up the side walk (spot where Nick F. surprise kissed me before spring break), I couldn't help but remember what it was like to be in Middle School.  The awkwardness, the innocence, and the food. It looked the same, yet seemed so different.  I even saw my PE Coaches...YES, they are both STILL THERE!
On my way out, I passed what used to be the dreaded pre-algebra room.
Ugh, HORRIBLE memories!
So, in honor of my trip down memory lane, I give you the Math Shoe!
Thought it was fitting!
I also thought about how grateful i am that I am not longer in math class!
I prefer math shoes over math class any day!
