Congrats Grad!

This past weekend...this one graduated!
{kindergarten graduation}
Congratulations Alex!
If you have read my previous Prom posts, you will know that for the last 11 years I have known{babysat back in the day} Alex and her brother, Luke.
It is amazing to me how fast time flies!
Over the weekend, her family hosted a graduation party.
With Luke & Alex
I apologize for the quality of the pics...camera phone.
I was slightly overserved by The Chris Pastina, the host with the most!
I had a great time wishing I was back in high school with Alex and Winn at the Party!
I was so drunk excited that I took random pictures of the family with my phone!
(i did have help from a former teacher of the kids...and fellow party-goer Jody!)
{The hubby and Luke}
This family means so much to me and I am so excited to see what adventures the wold holds for Alex!
So I will finish this post with a message I gave to my younger sister when she graduated college:

"My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, and while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish."

We Have Moved!

So out of nowhere, the Hubby and I decided to list our house for sale. We aren't really ready to leave, but wanted to take advantage of the market and get a good deal on a single-family home.  So, after 19 days on the market, we got an offer.  We went back and forth, and eventually setlled on a pirce.  At that point, we had 3 weeks to transfer mail, pack, call movers, and say good-bye to our first home.  We were all set and ready to move...WAIT! WHERE ARE WE MOVING?!?! oh, that is right, to my parents! ha! It all happened so fast, we are crashing there until we figure it out.  In the mean, enjoy these photos of the home we just sold!

Paige and Joe's Wedding Part 2

So after a beautiful ceremony, rainy reception, and a fun night out, we had a plan to catch. Our flight was at noon on Sunday...just enough time to get up, shower, grab some food, and head home.  I am in the middle of the shower when all of the sudden the fire alarm goes off.  Now oddly, this has happened to me at a wedding once before (Mary and Williams in 2005).  I rinsed the conditioner out of my hair, got dressed, and rushed out the door to find out it was not a fire.  Insted, it was major rain!  Apparently, it started back up after our fun night out.  At this point, I get a call from Paige that she and Joe cannot get across the street to come back to the hotel to get ready for her bruch.  I went downstairs to find this...
Hotel Lobby blocked off with furniture and covered in towels.
Hosea and Tate leaving breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Off to find the Bride and Groom crossing the street.
Dave dancing in the water

WE FOUND THEM!
The Bride and Groom Crossing the Flooded Street
This Guy decided he needed to move his car...
...onto the sidewalk!
Me with freshly washed hair...from rushing out of the shower!

Dave doing his part to help the flood!
Since we couldn't do the Canoe at the reception, we did it here!
Apparently, when it rains hard in N.O. they are prepared...and it happens often.
Within minutes, the hotel had their sandbags ready!
By the time we actually had to leave, the "flood" had drained, and our flight was on time!
Hands down one of the most memorable wedding weekends ever!
CONGRATULATIONS TO PAIGE AND JOE!

Paige and Joe's Wedding--The Dance Off

If any of you have ever been to a wedding with Entice, then you know there is always a dance off.  At Paige and Joe's wedding, Paige was asked to bring up 4 friends to the stage area.  She gets a smile on her face and calls:
GREYSON TUCK
(college friend and hilarious dancer)
BEN CASTORIANO
(friend through Paige and Joe)
PHIL WATSON
(her dad)
then...
ALLISON M...
(of course she would!)

looking back at pictures, i was thinking how lucky i was that the hubby didnt take any of the dance off! Few! Thank goodness.  Good hubby! Oh wait, is that the dance off I saw on You Tube?
Sure is!
For your viewing pleasure...I present...me making an ass of myself!
First, Greyson and Ben...
the video starts in the middle of greyson'ss dance and then moves on to ben.
then we have me! i really have no shame...but didn't really want to slut-it-up alone on the dance floor!
so, i recruited the beautiful bride to help me out!
i was in wet flip flops (in the rain), my dress was tight, it was hot and muggy out...and i really have no good excuse as to why i danced like i did other than....i was working my booty off to look somewhat coordinated!
okay...maybe not coordinated...and more like a frog, but whatever!

this video starts halfway through...i looked much better in the parts you can't see!
i am a disaster...and clearly have no shame b/c most of you would never know this video existed without me showing you! pretty sure i pulled a muscle!

and last but not least...the father of the bride!
Phil is the clear winner here!
that would be all of us doing the canoe!
No dance off would be complete without the bride and groom!
I present Paige and Joe!
Thanks Marc for all the video footage!

New Orleans: The Paige & Joe Wedding

Over the weekend, the hubby and I flew down to New Orleans for my dear friend Paige's wedding.
gotta love the fake smile!
We were so excited to be down there to celebrate this fabulous event! But over the course of the wedding day, it became very clear it was going to be like Charlotte's 2nd wedding from Sex and The City..."the worse the wedding, the better the marriage"!

But unlike, Charlotte...Paige never didn't sweat the small stuff!  So we get to the hotel and Paige comes to see us.  She gets a call that it looks like the chances of rain are much higher for the wedding the next day.  So, should she pay extra and get the tent?  Her reception was half indoors/half outdoors.  I said, you would be upset to pay a lot of money and not have it rain, but it would be worse to rain, and not have the tent.  Thank goodness she went for the tent!

So Saturday morning I woke up a bit hungover, did I mention it was New Orleans? and we stayed 1 block from burbon street? and it was New Orleans?  On our way back to our room on Friday night, here is what we saw!
This guy was outside his room, on the floor, with jeans and a pillow in his hand, in his underwear. The person on the other side of the door was laughing hysterically.  It reminded me of one particular TMI Thursday story I remember reading. HILARIOUS! Anyway, back to Saturday--I went to meet everyone in the "TENNESSEE WILLIAMS" suite to get ready!
Tennessee Williams Suite
Kaley and the Mother of the Bride getting pretty
Colleen and Mary Carlisle joined the Bride and M.O.H in the suite.
MC was the flower girl and absolutely adorable!
She is Super Cute!
After we got ready, we all went outside the hotel to ake our Bridesmaid/Bride pictures.  I will hopefully get more pictures later!  The rain wouldn't let up, so we stood under an awning in the hotel.  We then went back and changed out of our dresses to head to the church.
The start of the mini-disasters
1) Rain
2) Paige's zipper broke on her dress bag, so we carried it like a dead body all wrapped up so it wouldn't get soaked.  It was big and heavy!
3) A few bridesmaid dresses fell off the hangers and got soaked in the process of running from car to church
4) the buses were late picking up the guest at the church and the ceremony had to start late b/c there were no guests.
During the ceremony, when he said "does anyone legally feel there is a reason that Paige and Joe should not get married" , she slowly turned her head to see if anyone would...it was hilarious and so Paige!  During the ceremony you could hear thunder, but it was actually really cool sounding...and at all the right silences!
5) The bus did not come back to pick up the wedding party after the ceremony.  We were all waiting on the front steps...and you could tell Paige was starting to stress out. They were missing their party...where is the fun in that?
So a thoughtful wedding party member handed Paige some good ole Tennessee Whiskey!
Cheers!  Here she is on the phone with the bus company as we wait for our ride.
I actually think this should be a Jack Daniels ad!
Finally, the bus arrives and we are off to party!

At this point, the hubby is taking all the pics!
The First Dance

The Father Daughter Dance

Her dress is beautiful!
So Sweet!
The night went on with eating, drinking, and dancing!
When it was time to throw the boquet...Paige was ready.
This is probably her favorite part of the wedding b/c she has caught quite a few herself!
She had her sights on someone...
Her sister Rachel-She tured and threw it right to her!
After the band played, the bride and groom came back outside following a "2nd Line" (i think thats it).  This is a traditional new orleans band that had the crowd following, including Paige and Joe with umbrellas.
This was really neat and a great way to end the party!
From the reception, the plan was for the wedding party to hop on the street car and head downtown. Well, in true mini-disaster fashion, the street car never showed...so it was back on the bus!
Paige certainly didn't care...SHE IS MRS.HUGG!

a sign of a great time!
and it's off to burbon!

Close up with my friend Crystal...she is in Dallas now, so we never see each other!
I discovered the hubby and I dont have any pics together...but we have plenty with others!
with the parents of the birde after the wedding!
Overall, it was a beautiful wedding and a lot of fun!  The little things that went wrong made for a very memorable wedding!
xoxo to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hugg
(the final disaster will be on tomorrow)
