This year I decided to I wanted to try some Cake Pops that I had at
Mary's house last year. These things are pure heaven (and sugar) on a stick! I got the ingredients from Mary, the recipe online, and away I went!
If you are wondering what a Cake Pop is, here is one from
Bakerella.
Super Cute, right?
Oh just you wait to see mine!
I started out with my favorite cake mix--FUNFETTI!
Follow directions and bake the cake.
After the cake is cooled, crumble it in a bowl and mix in the icing.
Mold cake to desired shape. I was going for an "egg" look.
After you make them, follow directions for the Cake Melts (above) then spread on the cake pop.
Some directions say to drip on, dip in, smooth on.
Honestly...that doesn't work!
I tried every which way and could not get my cake balls to look like the ones above.
MINE.ARE. AWFUL!
I almost threw them away...but decieded it would be more fun to share them with the blogger world!
DRUM ROLL PLEASE....
Oh yah, look at those beauties!
i mean, have you ever seen a nicer cake pop?
So after trying to salvage the look of these cake pops, i thought, my untalented-ass would do a great job decorating with icing!
yes ladies and gentlemen...this is my Cake Pop Easter Basket.
Have you ever seen anything more heinous beautiful?
Luckily, my family doesn't care about presentation as much as taste! They were a hit!
HAPPY EASTER!
pretty sure the hubby is still embarassed by my decorating skills!
